UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY
Ho Chi Minh
City University of Technology ( HCMUT ) is one of
the leading technological institutions in
Viet Nam.
It is committed to the specialized knowledge of its faculties and upgrading
the existing facilities in order to increase the quality of training and
research.
The University was officially established in October 1957 under the name of
National
Technical
Center through the
amalgamation of College
of
Civil Engineering ,
College of
Electrical Engineering,
Maritime
Transportation
School and
College of
Mechanical Engineering.
After being merged with College
of
Chemical Engineering
in 1972, the
National
Technical
Center was renamed
the National Technical Institute and subsequently
Polytechnic University
( 1974). It was the only institute training
engineers for the South of Viet Nam before 1975.
After the reunification
of the country in April 1975, the
institution became Ho Chi Minh City University of
Technology ( HUT) in October 1976.
In 1996, the University was
incorporated into Viet Nam National University- Ho Chi
Minh City.
The University is committed to:
- Train Bachelors, Masters and Doctors in many
scientific and technological fields
- Carry out scientific and technological research
and apply the results into the industrial and commercial communities.
