Students coming from other cities and provinces are arranged to stay in the dormitory located 2 kilometers from the main campus. The cost for meals in HCMC is about 2 USD per student per day . There are canteens and food- stands every where. A bus station is at the school gate, which makes it easy for students to travel to the city centre or to other districts.
Sports
Sports activities are always the strength of HCMUT students. In addition to physical exercises in the curriculum, students regularly train themselves in their favorite sports at spare time. The sports activities unite all students together. The Communist Youth and the Student Association usually organize friendship games between freshman and senior students. Students can choose : basketball, volleyball, football, tennis …..
On the campus of 40,000 square meters, students can practise sports at : 3 volleyball courts, 1 football field, 1 tennis court

Extra- curricular activities:
In order to create exciting atmosphere among students, the Communist Youth and Student Association regularly organize meaningful extra- curricular activities , such as “ Green Summer Campaign” in which students volunteer to go to remote poor areas to help people learn how to read and write, to build country roads and bridges , etc. Freshman students have an excursion to Cu Chi to learn more about the history of this land. There are also a lot of Clubs, such as English Club, French Club for students to meet and practise foreign languages; Robot Club for those who are interested in making robots to learn and exchange experiences to prepare for the Robot Contests .
Every year there are new clubs and new activities. HCMUT students are active, enthusiastic and hospitable and ready to welcome all students from everywhere.
International Students
Every year HCMC receives practising students from France, Australia, Norway, Belgium or international students to attend one or two terms . These students come from Universities having MOUs with HCMUT.
