Center
for Developing Information Technology and Geographic Information System (DITAGIS):
DITAGIS Center was founded by the Ministry Education and Training in 1994. At present, it has more than 50 researchers who are Professors, Doctors, Masters and Engineers in Geographic Information System (GIS).
As a large and prestigious GIS center, DITAGIS can do research, be a consultancy, make feasibility study, design and set up GIS, or develop GIS applications for environmental, socio-economical, urban, utility management, and many other fields. In addition, DITAGIS is responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate students in GIS. In order to transfer geographic information technology to everyone, the center has also opened many short and long term GIS courses, such as GIS Introduction with Arc View GIS, Using ArcInfo, Starting GIS Programming with Avenue, and other courses. The center holds the annual GIS conference as well. These conferences provide opportunities to various researchers and technology developers to share their experiences for the benefits of all in GIS. They also provide opportunities to learn and know the latest development with regard to technology and applications in GIS.
Today, DITAGIS stands as a focus for GIS research and training. The center stands ready to meet the needs of its users and student community and to set the standards for the geographic information science.
