R&D AND INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS OFFICE INTRODUCTION

ù Research and Development:

   R&D and International Relations Office has the responsibilities to give advice to the Rectorate in the fields of scientific research and technology transfer and to have cooperation in research, training, and academic exchange both  domestic and international

 

Being one of the three universities of technology in Vietnam, HCMUT has the  function of training engineers in the fields of: basic construction, industry, natural resource  management, and environmental protection; serving the southern  parts of the country. Since 1981, HCMUT has trained  doctoral students in 34 specializations. In 1990, HCMUT opened master program in 18 specializations. Up to 2003, HCMUT has carried out  postgraduate training with 38 specializations  at master level and 30 specializations at  Ph.D level.

 

To serve the training and scientific research, HCMUT has 11 Faculties, 11 Research Centers, 1 Company, 3 Training Centers, 46 Departments, 9 Workshops, 41 Labs, 8 Computer Rooms, 01 Publishing House. The Central Library located on campus serves teaching staff and  both undergraduate and postgraduate students. The other library is  located in the Dormitory.

HCMUT is  one of the leading universities in Vietnam in  scientific research and technology transfer.  In 2002 HCMUT carried out 86 scientific research projects at all levels .

 

ù International Relations Activeties:

    The international cooperation is considered as the first priority of the University to  look for    

   partners in the region as well as in the world to expand all forms of cooperation, such as academic

   training, co- supervision to Doctoral candidates and joint research.

   To develop international cooperation, HCMUT carries out various activities, such as:

- Develop and enhance international relations

- Support and manage international cooperation projects run at HCMUT

- Have staff and student Exchange Programs with foreign universities and institutes

- Exchange information & experiences in training and research  with foreign universities,   

  institutes, and organizations

- Organize conferences, seminars, workshops

- Seek scholarships for staff and students
